Describe yourself in one word. Iridescent

A Fun Family Fact? My parents are both remarried, but we remain a solid family. My biological and step parents get along so well that we have taken many trips together.

The word empathetic is an adjective that is defined as “showing an ability to understand and share the feelings of another”. I believe that this is also a definition of myself. I truly and genuinely care about others and their feelings. People often tell me that my smile can bring light into their dark days.

Another adjective that describes me is “benevolent”. Benevolent means being charitable and kind. It is my desire to help others whenever possible. Giving a helping hand to others means much more to me than doing for myself.

The words “Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital” have been spoken around me since I was born. My mother was actively involved in a ladies group called TWIGS for years. TWIGS is a fundraising group for Le Bonheur. My mom took me with her to many events. I learned from her that having a servant’s heart will bless you more than having a selfish heart. Growing up around this group, I realized that their mission was something that changes lives daily, and therefore my heart grew towards fundraising and to raising awareness of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

My platform is “Every Child Matters: Raising Awareness and Support for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital”. There are quite a few people who are unaware that Le Bonheur serves over 27,000 children from Mississippi each year. I have personally known or heard stories from numerous children in my community who have benefitted from the care at Le Bonheur. This hospital not only provides exceptional care for the child, but also to their entire family.

Le Bonheur is a French word meaning “Happiness”. While working towards fundraising and raising awareness for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, it is my desire to spread “happiness” to all who I encounter.
