I love to lift weights. I definitely don’t look like a body builder, but whenever I’m at the gym I’m always picking up weights.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title:
My United States History class junior year definitely solidified what I wanted to do in my professional life. The class definitely was a defining moment in my life as well because I’m always thinking of ways to better the lives of Americans.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program?
The Miss America Organization has taught me that truly anything can be achieved through hard work. I have learned that one’s situation and background can only prohibit growth if an individual allows it to do so.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?
I would want to continue to make the Miss Mississippi Corporation a household name by continuing to promote Miss Mississippi’s growing social media presence and recruit more girls to come compete in this life-changing organization. Yes, my father passed away from a sudden heart attack in 2009, which prompted me to choose Life is Why- American Heart Association as my personal platform. What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime?
9/11 has definitely been the most significant event since I was born in 2000. September 11th definitely jumpstarted conversations about air travel, immigration, national security, surveillance, and using methods of torture not only in our government but also in households across the United States.
