What is your major? Special Education
What is your scholastic ambition? To graduate from Mississippi State with my Bachelor’s in Special Education. I will then work towards my Master’s while teaching special education.
List scholastic honors: President’s list, Academic Hall of Fame, Rotary Student, Recipient of the Freshman Academic Excellence, Mary & Wendell Ladner, and Deanes-Johnson Scholarship.
Greatest non-academic accomplishment: Being a National Champion in dance.

What is your hometown like? Small and not very eventful
What were you like when you were a child? Loud, nosey, rambunctious, not a lot has changed.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My siblings
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? When I first meet someone I am shy and quiet. So, once I come out of my shell, people are shocked at how much I actually talk.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: When I got my pacemaker. Although it does not affect my life much now, it definitely had an influence on who I am as a person.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Service. It’s one of the four points on the crown and it is the most important to me. Being in the Miss America Program provided me with new ways and ample opportunities to serve my community.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? If I were crowned Miss Mississippi, I would want to raise awareness of the needs of special needs and underprivileged kids in Mississippi. I would travel to schools across the state to encourage students to volunteer or donate at local shelters or other parts of their community.
What is your secret wish or dream? To become an actress
I’m motivated by: Knowing that there are hundreds of little girls looking up to me.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? After becoming involved in a special needs dance class, I wanted to give that opportunity to more children.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? Receiving my pacemaker, because it definitely changed the way I live my life.
The one thing I can’t live without: My phone.
My best friend would describe me as: Upon asking my best friend, their response was “A caring person with a special place in her heart for children. You always try to make the best of every situation.”
Something interesting about my family: I am the youngest of 6 children
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I fell down the stairs on my way to class.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Bungee jumping
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: Yes. I have a dog, a cat, goats and chickens.
