My name is McKenzie Cole, Miss Rhythm and Blues’ 2020. I am 13 years old and born on 06/06/2006 also known as Palindrome Day. I am the oldest sibling in my family. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat.

I have been involved with my school musical for 2 years as a singer and dancer. I am a starter for the Junior Varsity basketball team and a Junior High cheerleader. I received the St. Aloysius Service Award for over 40 hours of service in my community for the year. I attend First Baptist Church in Vicksburg which is also the church my parents exchanged vows in 16 years ago. I enjoy working in the daycare at the Southern Cultural Center and dipping strawberries for Valentine’s Day at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

My platform “I’m in Your Corner” #BuildNotBreak is an organization dedicated to showing children of all ages the importance of creating meaningful friendships. Through social outreach efforts and constant messaging through social media platform. “I’m in Your Corner is committed to helping the youth of today learn to build each other up.

I am very passionate about my platform because I have felt inclusion before. My home state of Mississippi is listed in the top 5 states for the highest percentage of high school students who attempted suicide because of constant harassment both at school and on-line. With the help of the Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen program, I am confident I can be the reason our state experiences a decrease in bullying cases and ensure that tweens and teens across Mississippi always have someone in their corner.
