What is your hometown like? It is a quiet little town with caring citizens. A hidden treasure in Rankin County.
What were you like when you were a child? I was very curious, full of energy, and ready to take on the world.
Who is the most influential person in your life? It would have to be my mom. She has always supported me in whatever endeavor I have chosen. She is a true friend and believer in me.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? I am adopted and have found my forever home. I have always thought of my adopted family as my real family and nothing will ever change that.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: A huge honor for me was being chosen to be in a vocal group “The Collegians” at my college.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Serving others was presented to me during my first year in this program. It has given me the opportunity to grow and has become a staple in my life.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? As Miss Mississippi I want to hold in high regard and serve the needs of the children of Mississippi. I also want to encourage and reflect the qualities of our state.
What is your secret wish or dream? For every child to find their forever home.
I’m motivated by: I am motivated by the fact that, when each day ends, I have done all that I can to help someone who needs it.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? I would say my platform chose me. Being an adoptee has given me the ability and understanding to relate with foster children throughout their struggles and search for a home.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? Working with foster children and seeing how encouragement and love impacts their lives tremendously.
The one thing I can’t live without: GPS, I have no sense of direction.
My best friend would describe me as: She would say I am always entertaining, considerate, and humorous. We are always up for an adventure.
Something interesting about my family: Music has always been important to my family. During the holidays we always gather around the piano and sing a variety of music.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: While singing a solo in church, I forgot the lyrics and instead made my own, but the spirit was still evident.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: I would actually like to try a survival weekend on a deserted island. Only for a weekend!!!!
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I have 3 of the most energetic and loving dogs. One poodle named TJ, a Pom named Bandit, and my adopted Chiweenie named Toby.
