What is your hometown like? My hometown of Clinton is rich in history and invested in the future. The people are hospitable, encouraging, and supportive of its fellow citizens.
What were you like when you were a child? As a child, I was quiet and shy unless I was given the opportunity to perform. I was also very inquisitive and loved to know when, where, why, and how.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? Most people do not realize that I love to perform and be onstage from just meeting me. I tend to be soft spoken and do not like to pull the focus away from anyone else. However, I love to hold a room’s attention and can do it well when given the chance.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: During my senior year of high school, I played the lead role in my school’s production of “Once Upon a Mattress.” Through being a part of this production, I realized what I wanted to do as a career and that was to use music in any way I could. My friends and family affirmed this passion in my life and truly began to see the importance of what I wanted to do.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? The biggest thing I have learned from being a part of this program is that I am only competing against myself. I must prepare to better myself and not to beat any other girl. The girls I have gotten to know have truly embodied the phrase, “Real queens fix each other’s crowns.”
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? As Miss Mississippi, I want to help the people of Mississippi understand the importance of music and mental health by speaking about my platform across the state. I’m motivated by: Constructive criticism. I know that I can always be better at whatever I am doing and when someone is able to give me contructive criticism, I can then know exactly what to fix.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your platform? I have always been passionate about music but it wasn’t until my freshman year of college when I struggled personally with a mental health issue. I know how much musiccan positively influence a child’s life because it did mine!
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? I think one of the most significant events that has happened in my lifetime has been the invention of the iPhone in 2007. This tiny little device sparked a whole movement of technology that continues to affect our everyday lives! I cannot imagine not having a phone that has the capabilities of an iPhone! They are so incredibly useful in today’s world.
The one thing I can’t live without: Crocs!
My best friend would describe me as: “She is always up for adventures and will alwaysact crazy with me even if we are the only ones. She is Christ focused and driven towardGod’s plans for her life. Her smile and laugh are contagious and she laughs without fear!” – Stevie Thomas
Something interesting about my family: My family loves Mexican food but I only like mymom’s tacos! So, one of our favorite things to do is have taco night at our housewhere we invite some friends over, cook tacos, and have homemade guacamole!
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: My best friend and I decided we were going to sing Happy Birthday to our friend opera style at a Cracker Barrel. After we finished, belting at the top of our lungs, the cook came out of the kitchen and asked where we learned to sing like that. She thought we were amazing and we thought it was hilarious because we had just been goofing off!
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: I would love to live in a different country but I am so close with my family that I would have to bring them along with me!
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I have a dog named Bella! She is a mix if many different breeds.
