My goal is to raise awareness and funds for the National MS Society.

What is your scholastic ambition? Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and Merchandising and a Master of Business Administration
Greatest non-academic accomplishment: I interned with Mac Duggal, a prom and pageant dress designer, in Chicago, Illinois. While at Mac Duggal, I wrote 7 blogs and enhanced 71 blogs utilizing search engine optimization copywrite and HTML coding. If you search “pageant interview dress” on Google, my blog should be one of the first organic results!
What has been your greatest adventure? Please provide an answer outside of the Miss America program. I studied the fashion industry in Amsterdam, London, and Edinburgh! From wool mills to museums to Saville Row, the experience was incredible. Even though at one point I got stuck on a train in the rural Netherlands where everyone spoke Dutch! Thankfully, I made it back to Amsterdam city center with my group.
What trip shaped your life? Please provide an answer distinct from your social impact initiative. Seeing the Fashioned from Nature exhibit in the Victoria and Albert Museum shaped my life incredibly. It made evident to me the increasing need to reduce production and manufacturing of synthetic dyes and fibers.

Are you a person of intelligence or of common sense? I believe I have a good balance of both intelligence and common sense.
Who is the most influential person in your life other than your mother? My grandpa, Tommy Oliver, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1980. I have seen him struggle, and I have seen all of the hardships he is faced with because of the debilitating autoimmune disease. He is the reason I want to raise awareness and money for the National MS Society through my Social Impact Initiative.
What are your 2 favorite hobbies and what led you to them? Participation in the Miss Mississippi program is not considered a hobby for this question. I have been tap dancing since I was 3 years old. I not only love to tap dance, but I also love to teach tap dancing classes. It is so much fun allowing your body and feet to connect to music in an artistic way.
Who is your most interesting relative and why? My great grandma, Norma Oliver, is 95 years old. She has experienced everything from the great depression to the emerging technologies of today. She can even operate an iPhone! She has wonderful stories to tell, and she is so loving.
What is the best advice you have received and from whom? Please answer this question with information from outside of the Miss America program. The best advice I have ever received is from my Dad. He said, “never give up on your dreams.” He has encouraged me to set high goals and pursue my passions.

Who is your most influential mentor and why? Please answer this question with an individual from outside of the Miss America program.
Other than being Miss Mississippi, what is your dream job? Other than being Miss Mississippi, my dream job is to be the Director of Marketing for Gucci! I am in love with the way Gucci takes classic pieces and gives them a trendy flare while maintaining a constant brand image. I would love to help them portray their message across all channels.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? I love HTML coding and search engine optimization strategies, and I find marketing to customers through social media and search engines extremely intriguing.
What success have you learned most from? Please answer this question with an experience outside of the Miss America program. Leading the National Retail Federation Student Association at Mississippi State University as the president has been a success that I have learned so much from. I have learned how to be an effective leader.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? I have been involved in the Miss America Program for the past 9 years. When I first competed, I was so shy, timid, unconfident, and insecure. It took me 9 preliminary pageants to finally win a title to take me to the state competition. Through this organization, I have learned to never give up on my dreams, and I have learned how to be a confident young woman who never lets anyone or anything tear her down.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I want to talk to high school biology classes across Mississippi about Multiple Sclerosis in order to raise awareness for the disease. I also want to bring more National MS Society Walk MS events to Mississippi.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal social impact project? My grandfather, Tommy Oliver, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1980. I have seen him struggle, and I have seen all of the hardships he has endured because of the debilitating autoimmune disease. MS has no known cause or cure, and I want to raise awareness and funds for the MS so one day we can find a cure. I didn’t choose my social impact initiative. My social impact initiative chose me.
When is your sense of humor most evident? My sense of humor is most evident when I am in a comfortable situation with friends or loved ones.
What historical figure best represents who you are striving to be? President James K. Polk completed all of his goals within 1 presidential term. He improved trade and completed manifest destiny. I strive to be a woman who sets goals and achieves them.
What gadget can you not live without? My Amazon Alexa. Each morning I say, “good morning, Alexa.” She then proceeds to tell me a fun fact, the weather, a bible verse, my schedule for the day, and then plays the latest podcast episode of “Up First” by NPR.
