What is your hometown like?     My hometown is the rice and duck capital of the world.  It is made up of wonderful and kind people who have encouraged me to be confident in myself and follow my dreams.

What were you like when you were a child?   As a child, I was very creative and adventurous!

Who is the most influential person in your life?     My parents have been the most influential people in my life.  They have supported me in achieving all of my goals and reaching for my dreams.  They have pushed me to be the best version of myself and they are always there for me no matter what.  My Mom and Dad are 1 in a million.  I am so thankful for them!

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?    I grew up on my family’s rice, soybean, and corn farm.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title:  Studying abroad to London, Amsterdam, and Edinburgh in the summer of 2018 was one of the most incredible experiences.  It gave me the opportunity to learn and appreciate other cultures and my own.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program?    The Miss America Organization has taught me to believe in myself, to never give up on my dreams, and to be confident in everything I do and every decision that I make. It has molded me into the young woman that I am today.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?    I would want to talk with as many students and community members about my platform and encourage them to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis in hope that we will one day find a cure for the disease.

What is your secret wish or dream?    I would love to be a model in New York Fashion Week.

I’m motivated by:   I am motivated by the goals I set for myself.  When I set goals for myself there is absolutely no one stopping me from achieving them.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform?  My grandfather, Tommy Oliver, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1980. This inspired me to raise awareness and funds to support research for the disease because MS has no known cause or cure.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime?    Choosing Mississippi State University was the best decision that I have ever made. Three years ago I could not have imagined the impact that this place and these people here would have on my life. Praise the Lord and go dawgs!!!

The one thing I can’t live without:  Bacon

My best friend would describe me as:    positive, confident, driven, competitive, and an Enneagram type 3

Something interesting about my family:    The initials of our names- Hannah, Erin, Lane, Luke, and Oliver, spell out the word “HELLO.”

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:              When I was studying abroad in Amsterdam, I got lost on a train that took me to the rural Netherlands where people only spoke Dutch. Thankfully, I am good with directions and made it back!

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me:  I would love to travel somewhere with my friends and leave my cell phone at home. I would love to see what life would be like if we could all disconnect from our technology.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names:    I have a chocolate lab named Ella.
