What can’t you live without? The blanket my mom made for me when I was a baby.

What is your favorite movie genre and why? I love romantic movies because all the good ones end with two people falling in love and living happily ever after.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? I will have received my undergraduate degree and be pursuing my law degree where I plan to work as a criminal defense attorney to work to clear the names of innocent people charged with crimes.
Most valuable lesson learned? The harder I work, the more I achieve.
Most valued role model (other than your mother) and why? My sister Mary Elizabeth because she became a foster parent and brought an awareness to the needs of these children to my entire family.
What motivates you? I am motivated by Laura Lee Lewis. She is a former Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Mississippi who currently works in Washington DC. She inspired me to set personal goals and work hard to achieve them.

A Fun Family Fact? My oldest sister is 25 years older than I am.
I am Hallie Bryant. I am a freshman at Pillow Academy where I play soccer and run track. I have participated in 4-H since I was three year-old. I literally train goats by teaching them to walk on a leash. Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine has purchased one of the goats I trained to help students working to become veterinarians. I live on a farm where we take care of 6 cows, 20 rabbits, 24chickens, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and will soon be caring for 2 lambs.
I love spending time with my friends! We like to dress up and take pictures in downtown Greenwood because it is a beautiful city. While singing is my talent, I also know how to play the piano. My family is extremely important to me, and we try to get together at least once a month. My sisters and I go on a “girls only” trip each year. I am a well-rounded teenager who is just as comfortable on stage as I am showing goats in cowgirl boots.
Currently, there are more than 400,000 children in foster care in America and a limited number of foster parents available for these children. I am very passionate about my platform “Foster a Child and Foster a Future” because I believe every child deserves a home. People need to be more aware to the needs of children in the foster care system and how they can help impact the lives of those children. Growing up, my father had a foster sister, and my sister is currently a foster parent. To watch her love and nurture these children like her own has been an amazing experience for me. I personally am too young to be a foster parent, but my job is to plant the seed in my generation about foster care, so when they are old enough to help, hopefully they will become foster parents.
When a child is taken from their home, a social worker arrives with a black plastic bag for their belongings. It is estimated that the average foster child moves 7 times before the age of 18 and with each move, everything they own is placed in a trash bag once more. All children deserve love, respect, and dignity, but not all children get these things. I am making it my mission to correct this problem and foster our future!
