What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? I’ve learned that all the pageant stereotypes that outsiders assume are true, are actually so far from the truth. The Miss America Organization is full of intellectual, talented, and selfless women, and people aren’t aware of this.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I would want to raise awareness not only for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals but for St. Jude as well as get students excited and involved in local government.

I’m motivated by: My goal of working in the White House
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Up until I was a sophomore in high school I was in and out of the hospital with an ear tumor called Cholesteatoma, so I understand what it means to undergo multiple surgeries and stay in a hospital. I am also apart of Tri Delta sorority and St. Jude is our philanthropy, so St. Jude is a big part of my life.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? My mission trip to Nicaragua to build schools and water systems for rural areas that didn’t have access to clean water showed me exactly how privileged I am and how we take everyday things for granted.
The one thing I can’t live without: Tea and my Ben Franklin mug
My best friend would describe me as: Energetic, bubbly, and goofy
Something interesting about my family: My dad’s side of the family is German, so one of our Christmas traditions is to hang a pickle ornament last and the first child to find it gets a cash prize.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: One time I went to the wrong class for two weeks until I realized that I was in the wrong class and had to get up and leave in the middle of class while everyone stared.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: I want to go Switzerland during the winter because I did a project on it in the 9th grade, but I absolutely hate the cold.
