Social Impact Initiative Description:      It is imperative that we make sure every child is equipped with the proper skills to maintain good oral hygiene. By implementing the “do, show, and tell” technique, one by one, I am saving a smile.

What college do you attend, or have attended, or will attend if High School graduating senior?  Hinds Community College Alumni and now attending Alcorn State University

What is your major?         Pre-Dentistry

List scholastic honors:    National Art Honor Society, American Dental Association member

What is your scholastic ambition?       I plan to obtain a Doctorates Degree in Dental Medicine.

Greatest non-academic accomplishment:     My greatest non-academic accomplishment has been to be an advocate to our youth about proper oral hygiene maintenance.

What has been your greatest adventure?  Please provide an answer outside of the Miss America program.  My greatest adventure would have to be the trip I took to Tennessee where I kayaked for 4 hours in a lake. Needless to say that my arms were noodles the next day.

What trip shaped your life? Please provide an answer distinct from your social impact initiative.          I can’t say that there has been a specific moment that has shaped my life. Over time, different obstacles that I have faced contributed to my growth as a woman.

Are you a person of intelligence or of common sense?    I would have to say that I am a double threat.

Who is the most influential person in your life other than your mother?     Natalie McMillan

What are your 2 favorite hobbies and what led you to them? Participation in the Miss Mississippi program is not considered a hobby for this question.           I love to binge watch Netflix in my leisure time. I have been a singer since the age of 4 so it is just something that I do every day.

Who is your most interesting relative and why?      My brother is the most interesting relative in my family. He is the only person that thinks in a perspective that I would have never imagined.

What is the best advice you have received and from whom? Please answer this question with information from outside of the Miss America program.        One time in a store a gentleman told me “If you plant corn in a field, you will harvest corn. If you plant negativity in your life, expect negativity. So young lady always plant positivity in your life no matter the circumstances.”

What is your favorite quote?      “A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.”

Who is your most influential mentor and why? Please answer this question with an individual from outside of the Miss America program.       My mother is and will always be my mentor.  I know that she will never lie to me or steer me in the wrong direction.

Other than being Miss Mississippi, what is your dream job?     My dream job is to be a Dentist. Outside of work, I would like to do outreach in my community and provide certain services for those in need.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?    I am left handed but if I’m am not writing or eating, I am more likely to use my right hand.

What success have you learned most from?  Please answer this question with an experience outside of the Miss America program.      Becoming a dental assistant and working in a dental practice has taught me how to be more efficient with my communication skills when it comes to comforting patients.

What failure have you learned most from? Please answer this question with an experience outside of the Miss America program.      When I was 1st runner up to NAM Miss Mississippi teen in 2015, I thought I failed. This obstacle showed me how strong I actually was and inspired me to never give up.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program?       Appearance, attitude, and first impression is everything. You need to appear as the part, have a positive attitude, and remember that your first impression could sometimes be your last.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?      My goal would be to venture our state and target as many children as possible and supply them with hygiene packs and teach them how to properly floss and brush.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal social impact project?     Yes. Being a dental assistant and seeing pediatric patients in need of desperate dental care made me realize that their condition is a result of the lack of oral hygiene skills.

When is your sense of humor most evident?      All day, every day!

What historical figure best represents who you are striving to be?      Michelle Obama is the epitome of a real woman. She is fearless and confident and I strive to be like her.
