What is your hometown like? My hometown demonstrates the true meaning of Southern Hospitality. Alongside the hospitality, the historic scenery captivates the eyes of flourishing tourists.
What were you like when you were a child? When I was a child I was very energetic and talkative. Being so outgoing at a young age has developed me into the burst of energy that I am today.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My mother is the most influential person in my life because she exemplifies the definition of a woman who loves Christ, who is selfless, and cherishes family values.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?
I am left-handed, but I utilize the majority of my right side throughout the day.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title:
When I was awarded the title of Miss Congeniality 2016 at the Debutante Ball, I was extremely shocked that my peers voted for me. They saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program?
I have learned that it is not about me anymore but about how I can empower others to better themselves while being the prime example.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?
During my year of service I would like to target the younger generation (youth) and get them more involved in their own communities so that service becomes second nature to them.
What is your secret wish or dream? Being Miss America has always been my biggest aspiration.
I’m motivated by: Melanie Sanders who was Miss Vicksburg and Miss Atlanta.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform?
Yes. My youngest sibling Christopher has autism. His whole life I have watched him be counted out in social settings, denied of friendships, and labeled as being “un-normal” which made the definition of normal stand out to me.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime?
Deciding the live my life for Christ has been the most significant event in my life. God has shown me things about myself that I would have never found in me if I had never found Him.
The one thing I can’t live without: I cannot live without Christ.
My best friend would describe me as: a talkative, outgoing, loving, charismatic, yet sensitive girl who loves Church.
Something interesting about my family: We are probably the goofiest family there is. Most people think we are quiet but when we are together, we are full of character.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:
During my first pageant, I froze on stage after mispronouncing a word.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: I would love to skydive, but I am terrified of heights.
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: Yes, I have a Shih Tzu, and her name is Destiny.
