What is your favorite movie genre and why?    I am a total chick flick fan. In my opinion,nothing is better than getting popcorn and watching a movie about true love.

What is your hometown like?     My hometown of Batesville is a sweet small town where everyone knows everyone. The people of my town are always willing to help anyone in need.

What were you like when you were a child?   I have always been a very outgoing person. I was (and still am) excited and willing to go out and meet new people.

 Who is the most influential person in your life?     The most influential person in my life is definitely my mom. She always pushes me to do the best in everything I do. My mom is always willing to listen to me and be my shoulder to cry on.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?    That I am a huge ball of energy. I am always wanting to run around and do something new and exciting.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title:  One defining moment in my life would definitely be when my family and I moved to Mississippi. I was born and raised in Sevierville, Tennessee until I was twelve. When we moved to Mississippi, I was introduced to a new way of life I had never known.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program?    One important thing I have learned from the Miss America Organization is how important it is for women to make their mark in the world. Also for women to make sure to speak their minds on what is important to them.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?    One thing I would love to accomplish during my year of service would be to set up an Imagination Library in every county in Mississippi. This program allows every kid in the county to receive a book every month from birth till age five.                                                           

What is your secret wish or dream?    When I am older I want to have a house with a library and fire place in one room.

I’m motivated by:              By drive to be successful in everything I am a part of in my life.  

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform?  Yes, I was lucky enough to have grown up in a household that encouraged reading,and to have Imagination Library in my county. I want to help all children in Mississippi have this same opportunity.

 What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime?   I think the creation of the iPhone has been extremely significant in my lifetime. It has changed how people communicate with each other.

The one thing I can’t live without:         Chick-fil-A                                                    

My best friend would describe me as:    “Outgoing. Constantly pushing people out of their comfort zone.” – Jensen Overbay aka my best friend  

Something interesting about my family:    Including my parent’s childhoods, my family has moved 16 times, including 2 countries, 5 states, and 14 cities.

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:  One time I accidentally made my chocolate milk cartoon explode at school. Covering myself and the girl next to me in chocolate milk.

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me:  I would really like to try sky-diving. I think it would be a fun experience but nothing I would normally do.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names:    I have two dogs! A schnauzer/poodle mix named Suzie. I also have a black lab puppy named Duchess.
