What college did you attend, or are currently attending?  The University of Southern Mississippi

What is your major?  My major is Fashion Merchandising.

What is your scholastic ambition? My scholastic ambition is to work in a fashion closet at a well-known fashion magazine.

List scholastic honors:  While attending the University of Southern Mississippi, I had the honor of receiving the Academic Excellence Scholarship, as well as the Dean’s Excellence Award for Merchandising.

Greatest non-academic accomplishment: My greatest non-academic accomplishment was serving as President of the Fashion Merchandising Organization.

What is your favorite style of music?  My favorite style of music is pop because it lifts my spirits and it is easy to jam out to in a car.

What is your favorite movie genre and why? My favorite movie drama is romanticmovies is because I am a sucker for a happy ending.

What is your favorite gadget? My favorite gadget is the iPhone because it encompasses all gadgets in one.

What is your favorite blog? My favorite blog is

What is your favorite place to visit?  My favorite place to visit is London because I was lucky enough to spend a month of my life there while studying abroad.

What is your favorite food? My favorite food of all times is chicken and dumplings.

If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? If I was on a deserted island I would want the book “Before I Die”, by Jenny Downham, because it makes you think about how precious life really is.

Do you twitter? Unfortunately, I have not yet begun to twitter.

What is your hometown like?     I’m lucky enough to live in a hometown that is a year- round vacation getaway.  Gulfport has the best beaches and the nicest people you will ever meet.

What were you like when you were a child? As I child, I was known for being only slightly more dramatic than I am today.  I was always portraying some character I watched on TV and forced my parents to watch me perform.

Who is the most influential person in your life? The most influential person in my life is my mother.  She constantly pushes me to be better than who I am and always supports me in everything I do.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? The one thing people may not immediately realize is how old I am.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title:  The most defining moment in my life was being rejected from the Disney College Program.  It helped me realize it’sokay not to meet all the opportunities you’ve been given because there are more around the corner.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? One important thing I have learned from being in the Miss America Program is how much you should believe in yourself.  It takes so much dedication to make it to where the fellow contestants and I have gotten, and I truly believe anyone lucky enough to be in the Miss America Programs is already a winner within.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? If I am lucky enough to be crowned Miss Mississippi, I hope to make my state proud throughout my reign.  I want to accomplish bigger things with my own platform, as well as Children’s Miracle Network.

What is your secret wish or dream? My secret wish is to become a bigger Disney superstar than Hanna Montana ever was.

I’m motivated by:    I am motivated by my own personal drive to accomplish the goals I have set for myself.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Coming from a very small family, I know how devastating it can be to have a loved one in the hospital.  I chose Ronald McDonald House Charitiesas my platform because I want every family to feel comfortable and not worry during their hard times.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? The most significant event in my life was hurricane Katrina because I had to learn to live with almost nothing for two months.  It definitely helped me appreciate how much I have been given when I realized how many people around the world live without the basic necessities.

The one thing I can’t live without: I cannot live without a good book to read.

My best friend would describe me as: My best friends would describe me as super enthusiastic about everything.  I love to make people laugh and I am always over the top dramatic.

Something interesting about my family: I am the only person in my family with a middle name.  Both of my parents have only a first and last name.

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:   I own a tank top that says “I Hate Monday’s”, and I had the horror of wearing it all day Tuesday before anyone told me my shirt was about the wrong day.

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Something out of character for me that I would like to try some spicy food.  I can’t even handle eating a hot cheeto.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I have a pet Chihuahua named CoCo.  To me she is my sister, because she is the only pet I have ever had.
