What is your major? I am a Banking and Finance Major working on Minors in Journalism and Marketing.
What is your scholastic ambition? My goal is to graduate with honors and a Bachelor of Business Administration, and I want to obtain an MBA before entering the workforce.

What is your favorite movie genre and why? I love a good comedy. When I have free time to watch a movie, I enjoy watching something lighthearted or funny.

What is your favorite blog? I love Julianne Hough’s blog! From recipes to beauty tips to kindness challenges, she inspires me to inspire others through my personal blog.
What is your favorite place to visit? I love going to the lake with family and friends. I enjoy water skiing, boating and relaxing when I’m there.
What is your favorite food? It’s a tie between pizza and donuts!
If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? I would want to have my Jesus Calling devotional book. It’s a great source of encouragement, is filled with powerful scripture, and helps me start my day right every morning.
Do you twitter? I don’t post on twitter much, but it’s a great resource for current events.

Thing to do on a weekend: A perfect weekend would involve sleeping in, having brunch, cheering on the Rebs, volunteering in the children’s ministry at my church and getting organized for the week ahead.
Way to spend a day off: My friends and I love to explore! On a day off, we like to go “country cruising” in my friend’s Jeep and see the varying sites of Mississippi. Once we found a farm of miniature animals!
What is your hometown like? My hometown is the capital of the Natural State. Little Rock is a big town with a small town feel. The people are friendly and the shopping is great. There are lots of fun outdoorsy things to do and tons of delicious places to eat.
What were you like when you were a child? I was happy and carefree. Being the middle of three girls with a sister 14 months older and one three years younger, I discovered early on that being a peacemaker would serve me well. People say they remember me always smiling, playing dress up and dancing around when I was young.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My mom has set an amazing example of what a balanced life looks like. She sets goals, makes the things that are important to her a priority, loves people and never forgets to have fun.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? I have an adventurous spirit. I think people might not immediately realize that I’m not afraid of change and love to try new things and visit new places.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: As a high school sophomore, I was selected to attend the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar. This life changing experience greatly contributed to the development of my leadership skills and heart for serving others, and I have loved returning to the conference every year since as a speaker and Junior Counselor.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Being a part of the Miss America Program has helped me realize my potential as a leader and servant, and it has empowered me to use my personal strengths to encourage others to recognize and use theirs as well.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I want to be a titleholder who helps shape peoples’ perception of pageant participation to be synonymous with being a role model, change maker, and woman in action. The goal for my reign would be to inspire people to make sound financial decisions, seek healthy lifestyle choices, and take every opportunity to serve others so they can live their lives to the fullest and do their part to help make our world a better place.
What is your secret wish or dream? I secretly wish I could eat Papa John’s Pizza everyday with no negative consequences to my health or physique.
I’m motivated by: The personal satisfaction that comes from achieving my goals or overcoming my fears motivates me to do my best and try my hardest in everything I do.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes! My parents helped me understand the importance of forming and practicing positive financial habits at a young age by allowing me to explore creative ways to earn money and open a savings account. I realize not everyone has positive role model to help them begin to understand the impact this can have on their future. As a Banking and Finance major, I am passionate about raising awareness about personal finance topics. It is my goal to help young people be “money wise” so they too can reap the lifelong benefits of good spending, saving and giving practices.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? The invention of the smartphone has drastically altered the way we communicate, learn, and interact with those around us.
The one thing I can’t live without: I can’t imagine life without music.
My best friend would describe me as: I believe she would say I am fearlessly authentic, that I care a lot about other people, I’m passionate about the things I believe in, I chase my dreams, and I try my best to always be kind to others.
Something interesting about my family: One of my family’s favorite traditions is to watch the movie Christmas Vacation during the holidays. We drink out of our moose cups, recite the lines with the actors, laugh a lot, and take silly pictures in Christmas sweaters.
Most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: When I was looking for a date to one of my sorority’s functions, I asked a boy from my church that turned out to be engaged. I was absolutely mortified! Lesson learned- always check someone’s relationship status before asking him or her to go to an event with you!
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: I’d love to travel to Europe with no itinerary and see where I ended up. This would be hard for me because I’m a big planner, but I think I’d have a great experience.
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: My family has one adorable Lab puppy named Lexi. She is full grown now, but she will always be our baby girl!
