Greatest non-academic accomplishment: I was chosen as my local Distinguished Young Woman my junior year of high school. At the state program, I won Overall Fitness, a Talent Preliminary, and placed Third Alternate.

What is your favorite movie genre and why? I love action movies because I enjoy the adrenaline rush and excitement of watching them.
What is your favorite gadget? My favorite gadget is my Instax Mini Polaroid camera.

What is your favorite place to visit? My favorite place to visit is Glacier National Park in Montana.
What is your favorite food? My favorite food is grilled chicken with green beans.
If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? I would want Rick Riordan’s The Lost Hero because I never get tired of reading it and it would inspire me to make a heroic escape from the island.

Thing to do on a weekend: I enjoy going to any kind of entertainment, whether it is the movies, a band, or a sports game.
Way to spend a day off: I love relaxing on the couch and watching my favorite old movies.
What is your hometown like? My hometown of Philadelphia is a small Mississippi town that has a big heart. We are well-known for our two yearly fairs, the Neshoba County Fair and the Choctaw Indian Fair .
What were you like when you were a child? My family says that I was extremely active and inquisitive, and I have not slowed down since.
Who is the most influential person in your life? The most influential person in my life is my grandmother. She continues to motivate and support me no matter what I am involved in, and she teaches me things that can only be learned through watching a truly selfless person.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? At a first glance, people may not realize that I am, what people would call, a science nerd. I also love to learn about and play most any sport.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: A defining moment in my life occurred when I was on a mission trip in Honduras. Experiencing the lives they live compared to ours made me realize how blessed I am and I remember that feeling daily.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? That I have the opportunity, that many others do not have, to positively influence the children of all ages that I meet.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I would like to not only be an ambassador for Mississippi, but also reach out to surrounding states and spread the message of my platform, Plug Into Reading, to as many young people as possible.
What is your secret wish or dream? I would love to experience the adventure of being able to skydive with some of the Airborne Rangers.
I’m motivated by: the desire to better myself. I am very self-motivated and I have a competitive edge that helps keep me motivated.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? I have always had a passion to read even as a child. I believe that reading so much as an adolescent has made me more imaginative and well versed.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? So far, the most significant event in my life has been graduating high school and leaving home to go to college. It has taught me how to branch out on my own and learn to take care of myself.
The one thing I can’t live without: is my vintage Eagles t-shirt I sleep in every night.
My best friend would describe me as: the girl version of Indiana Jones.
Something interesting about my family: is that we enjoy the national parks, and we have camped and hiked in 26 total national parks.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I fell down the stairs my first day of high school. I was mortified at the time, but now I find it hilarious.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: is to learn to play an instrument. As much as I love music, I have never tried to play an instrument.
