What makes you special and unique? I’ve been known to have a carefree personality. Every once in a while, I need a little extra push from those who love me because they know that “when the rubber actually meets the road” I can and will get the job done
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? The one thing people may not realize about me is I’m very energetic. When I step on stage I become even more alive with energy. There is nothing I love more than watching a crowd come alive with me when I begin to sing. I just love to entertain
Best advice you have ever received? The best advice I’ve ever received is from my mom that winning and losing are equally important. You may not win every time, but every time is practice for the next time. She has taught me to always hold my head high, smile, and use the difficult moments as learning tools. The losses make the wins that much sweeter
What can’t you live without? Just like most teenagers my phone, but I know truly that things don’t make you happy. I couldn’t live without the love and support of my Mom, my family, and my friends
What is your biggest guilty pleasure? Absolutely Food! I don’t have one particular favorite. I just love it all
What is your favorite movie genre and why? My favorite movie genre is comedy. Nothing makes me feel better than a good laugh. Especially when I’m with my girlfriends, and we find a movie that makes us laugh so hard our stomachs hurts
Where do you see yourself in ten years? I see myself having a degree in performing arts and doing what I love most, performing for others, making people smile through my love of music and acting. I’d love to be in a crowded stadium with people screaming my name. If I can’t do what I love most, I would like to be a dentist
Most valuable lesson learned? I think one of the most valuables lessons is “if at first you don’t succeed try, try again”. You should never give up on your dreams. Just because one person says “no” doesn’t mean that everyone will. While you are waiting on the next door to open, you praise God in the hallway
Most valued role model (other than your mother) and why? Taylor Swift because she was the youngest songwriter ever signed. She writes songs like they are simple diary entries. She’s a Grammy winning Country/ Pop sensation, and, at only 19, bill board Artist of the Year. However, I feel that she hasn’t let any of this change who she is. In 2014 she was voted as Humanitarian of the Year. I think that through her fame and fortune she helps others and gives them hope and inspiration
What motivates you? I am reminded of a Bible verse. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This simply excites me that GOD has a great big future planned out for me. I can’t wait to see what it is
Greatest non-academic accomplishment other than winning your local title? I was on the cover of the Christmas edition to the Internet Magazine Gospel Music Express. I can’t express the feeling of knowing that through gospel music I’m able to share the Good News of Our Savior
Best compliment you have ever received?I was in a Nashville’s Country Music Award’s event competition. We were told to bring a song that we had been working on, that we had been struggling with, not one that was already perfect. As I walked on the stage, I took my glasses off and explained that I picked the song just the day before. When it was over they asked, “Why did you take your glasses off?” and I said, “Oh, my mom would kill me if I didn’t.” And the lady said, With or without glasses you are absolutely beautiful, and your voice was breath taking. I could listen to you all day long
Secret wish or dream? Well…. I can’t tell my secret or it might not come true
What is the funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? Acting and singing come very naturally for me. I had to give a speech that I had been working on for weeks. When I stepped onto the stage I began my speech, and, all of a sudden, I was like a deer in headlights. I just froze absolutely…nothing. After what felt like an eternity, a voice from the crowd, my CRAZY mom, yells, “start over!” At that moment, I was snapped back into reality, and I finished my speech. I remember coming off the stage with big tears in my eyes and my mom having the biggest smile, throwing her arms around me, and saying she was so proud of me
What is one thing you’d like to try that is out of character for you? I made a joke once. I said, ”All this singing and acting is getting in the way of my softball career.” Everyone laughed and said, “What softball career?” I said, “The one I don’t have.” I’ve never played, and all my friends seem to love it
What is your super power? If I were granted one super power I’d like the ability to fly. Isaiah 40:31 says, But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grown weary, they will walk and not be faint
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss Mississippi Program? Miss Mississippi isn’t just a title, it’s a role. Being the voice for Mississippi requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Preparation is the key. Each area of competition requires that I be the best I can be
Describe yourself in one word: LOVING
A Fun Family Fact? We turn off all electronics and television at dinner. It’s our time to share our day. We play this game called “Roses & Thorns.” The rose is the best part of our day, and the thorn is the worst part

I am 13 year old Megan Elizabeth Allen, the daughter of Tony and Amanda Allen. I’m an 8th grade Long Beach Middle School student. I was humming along to the tunes on the radio before I could even talk as a baby. Over the past few years God has blessed me with incredible opportunities that have allowed me to share my passion for singing, dancing, and acting. I have traveled to places, met amazing people and experienced things most 12 year olds could only dream of. I recently recorded my 4rd demo. My most recent accomplishment was finishing in the top 25 in “The Search Is Now”. I was featured on the T.V. show Nashville Spotlight. I have sung on the steps of Carnegie Hall, performed a solo at Jazz Lincoln Center in New York City and the World Famous Nashville Palace. I was a preliminary winner for Texaco’s County Showdown, finishing in the top 3. Not only do I love singing, I love acting. I think they go hand and hand. I am a member of Actor’s playhouse and Sip productions where I performed in Pinkalicious, On the Tip of My Tongue, and God’s Will in Chicago. I’ve been in anti-smoking commercials and a commercial for Blair E. Batson Hospital. I’ve studied with some of the best in the industry including Steps on Broadway and very intensive workshops in New York City and Los Angeles, CA. I even took a pop dance class instructed by Usher’s very on choreographer. I had the privilege to study under Jo Dee Messina and Disney Channel’s Olivia Holt. I’ve trained with some pretty amazing people right here in Mississippi also. The most important thing to me isn’t that I become famous but that through what I love someone may come to know Christ because I know without him I would be nothing. I am Megan Elizabeth Allen, my initial M.E.A say it all. I’m a Mississippian, Entertainer, and Actress
