What is your favorite style of music? Definitely pop

What is your favorite movie genre and why? I love a good romantic comedy. I love to laugh and also see a good love story!

What is your favorite gadget? Keurig

What is your favorite place to visit? I love to visit the beach. Anywhere with a beach is the perfect place for me.

What is your favorite food? Warm brownies with ice cream.

If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? How to survive on a deserted island for dummies.

Do you twitter? I do not twitter. I have one but rarely look at it!

What is your hometown like? Port Gibson is the 3rd oldest town in the state of Mississippi, full of antebellum homes and historical landmarks. General Grant labeled it“The town too beautiful to burn”.

What were you like when you were a child? I am the youngest of 4 children and was often called a “drama queen”. I loved to talk and was involved in lots of activities such as dance, softball, and theatre.

Who is the most influential person in your life?  My mother. She has always pushed me to pursue my dreams and step out of my comfort zone. Her strength and drive is always something I have admired.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? That I can do a great impression of the Grinch

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: When I made Ole Miss Rebelette’s. I  had achieved a goal I had dreamed of since my childhood. Achieving that goal made me realize that hard work and determination do pay off.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? The Miss America Organization has encouraged me to pursue my dreams and empowered me to be a role model to all generations. It has furthered my communicationskills and proved that I have a voice that deserves to be heard.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Yearof Service? I would love the opportunity to serve the Children’s Miracle Network and to promote service to my community. As Miss Mississippi I would have better opportunities to promote myself as a role model.

What is your secret wish or dream? To be on Dancing with the Stars and dance with Derek Hough!

I’m motivated by: Negativity. When someone tells me I can’t do something, it pushes me that much harder to achieve my goal.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes. I have always been interested in fitness and good nutrition. My mom is a nurse and my dad is diabetic. My mom always instilled good nutrition to stay healthy. I began dancing at age 3 and never realized that was a good way to stay fit. My family has always stressed the importance of health and I want to spread that to all generations!

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? My best friend in high school betrayed my trust. Through this experience, I learned the importance and true meaning of forgiveness.

The one thing I can’t live without: My family and coffee!

My best friend would describe me as: Funny, Encouraging, Dependable, Trustworthy, and Loyal.

Something interesting about my family: I have 18 first cousins and we are all close and stay in touch. During the holidays we always get together and have a big family game night!

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: My junior year of high school, we did the play “Grease”. I played the part of Rizzo and had a solo singing “Sandra Dee” and forgot all of my words in the middle of the song and was left standing there saying “Ummmm I’m Sandy???”

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: To be a Top Chef competing on the show “Chopped”

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I do! I have a Maltese named Finn. He was a surprise Christmas gift and he is now 1 years old!
