What is your hometown like? Port Gibson is a small town, full of history. It has a very pleasant southern grace and we are a very close knit community.
What were you like when you were a child? As the youngest of 4 children, my siblings would say I was spoiled and a drama queen. I was very active and involved when I was a child.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My mother. Her handwork and drive cease to amaze me everyday. She has always pushed me to pursue my dreams and goals and has instilled in me the belief that nothing is impossible.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? That I have a great sense of humor.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: Making the Ole Miss Dance team was a dream come true. It had always been a goal of mine and it proved that hard work and drive do pay off!
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? I have learned the importance of community service and about the different ways to be involved in my community.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I want to be a positive role model capable of having a lasting impact on everyone. I want to experience things that I otherwise might not have the opportunity to and to spread my platform as far and wide as I possibly can. I would love to represent my wonderful state!
What is your secret wish or dream? To become an NFL cheerleader
I’m motivated by: Negativity. When people put doubt in my head, it pushes me that much harder.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes. I was bullied throughout my young years of middle school and learned several ways to cope that I want to share with the younger generations.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? When I lost my grandfather last spring. We were very close and it was hard to accept that I would never see him again, even though he was so sick. I learned to never take advantage of the time you have with loved ones.
The one thing I can’t live without: Coffee
My best friend would describe me as: Funny, Talented, Strong, and Ambitious.
Something interesting about my family: My family has been in Mississippi for 9 generations. My ancestor was a war hero, Gov. Benjamin Humphreys.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I played Rizzo in our performance of Grease in high school. On the first night of the show, I completely blanked on my solo song and had to improvise the whole thing!
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: To go on a real camping trip.
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: Yes! I have a toy Maltese named Finn.
