Greatest non-academic accomplishment:  Full scholarship lead vocalist in Collegians, Earned the Patriot Award for leadership skills, Mentoring at risk children to make positive choices, Promoted South Sudan Water Well donations, X-factor finalist, American Idol finalist.

What is your favorite style of music?  Blues, Bluegrass, R&B, Country

What is your favorite movie genre and why?  I enjoy comedy, because laughter is the song of my heart.

What is your favorite gadget?    Microwave, because I don’t cook and popcorn is the go-to college snack.

What is your favorite blog?  The Pageant Planet has given me a lot of good tips about competing in pageants.

What is your favorite place to visit?  The Beach

Thing to do on a weekend: Lots of time at the gym, more than likely studying, and kayaking is my favorite.

Way to spend a day off:    Lots of time at the gym and spending time with my family.

What is your hometown like?  I was raised in a small southern town with its unique qualities. Pelahatchie is a hidden gem that offers quiet but personable hospitality.

What were you like when you were a child?  As a child I was compared to a energized battery because I could not be still and had endless energy. I was surrounded by family and friends. They encouraged and supported me in all my dreams.

Who is the most influential person in your life?  I know most pageant girls would respond “their mother”, but I can honestly say that my mother has been my rock. She has taken me to endless music classes and waited for hours on me to perform no matter what the weather. She always encourages me by saying there is something inside you greater than any problem you face.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? They may not see all aspects of me when we first meet, but I am a positive person and I look for the best in others. I try to give compliments because one kind word can change another person’s whole day.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: At the age of 12 while attending Mississippi College music camp I was chosen as the lead vocalist in the featured show for ages 12-18. This adventure encouraged me to pursue a musical career. That was the start of this wonderful dream of mine.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Miss America’s four points is an integral part of this pageant system and my life. I have realized how important Community service is and the blessing you receive from reaching out to others.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I want to accomplish as much as possible during my reign as Miss Mississippi, this title would be an important chapter in my life. I also would want to encourage adoptions for all our Mississippi Children who need a forever home.

What is your secret wish or dream?     To perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage and be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.

I’m motivated by:    I am motivated by the desire to achieve my dreams of becoming the best person that God intended me to be. His plans for my future is far greater than any of my fears. I feel that the talents are God’s gift to you, what you do with them is your gift back to God.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? As an adopted child, my platform centers around decreasing the number of children placed in the foster care system in the U.S. It is my desire for all children to be raised in a loving and supportive family as I was. My desire is to bring Adoption to the for front of many caring adults so that it might light a fire in their heart to reach out and become that loving and caring home for that child who deserves to have a forever home.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? Above anything that I can imagine, having been chosen by my adopted parents is not only the most significant event of my life, it is also the greatest blessing of my life.

The one thing I can’t live without: Deodorant

My best friend would describe me as:  Like a firecracker ready to hop on stage and entertain.

Something interesting about my family:  My mother found out she was pregnant during my adoption process as a result my sister and I are 4 months apart in age.

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:   I forgot the words to my song and made my own words.

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me:  Living in a small city, I would like to live in a large city like Nashville TN where there is more than one traffic light and plenty of opportunities.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I have a beautiful Pomeranian, his name is Bandit, because he steals all of my colorful socks.
