What college did you attend, or are you currently attending? I am attending Hinds Community College
What is your major? My major for my Associate Degree is Court Reporting, but I plan to major in music at the next level of my education
What is your scholastic ambition? I will earn a certification in Court Reporting at Hinds Community College, and I plan to earn a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at the university level
List scholastic honors: I was an Honors Student and also received a Juilliard Partial Scholarship
Greatest non-academic accomplishment: I have several that include earning the Patriot Award for leadership skills at my high school, mentoring at risk children to make positive choices, promoting the South Sudan Water Well donations, winning the Neshoba County Fair talent competition, and being an X-Factor finalist, but out of these, the greatest non-academic accomplishment for me was probably earning the Patriot Award for leadership skills
What is your favorite style of music? I enjoy all kinds of music. Mississippi is well known for its musical heritage and is the Birthplace of America’s Music
What is your favorite movie genre and why? I enjoy comedy because laughter is definitely the best medicine
What is your favorite gadget? It would be the microwave. Popcorn is the go-to college snack
What is your favorite blog? The Pageant Planet has given me a lot of good tips about competing in pageants
What is your favorite place to visit? I love the beach and have dreams of visiting exotic locations such as The Great Barrier Reef in Australia
What is your favorite food? Brownie warm with vanilla ice cream
If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? I would want the book entitled “Just Incase” by Kathy Harrison

Thing to do on a weekend: When taking time off from a challenging schedule of school and activities, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends

What is your hometown like? I was reared in a small southern town with its unique qualities. Pelahatchie is a hidden gem that offers quiet and personable hospitality
What were you like when you were a child? As a child, I was compared to the Energizer Bunny because I could not be still and had endless energy. I also had an interest in singing and performing at a very young age, so family and friends encouraged me to pursue and develop that talent
Who is the most influential person in your life? I know most pageant girls would respond, “My mother,” but I can honestly say that my mother has been my rock and has sacrificed a lot to help me achieve my goals. She always encourages me and has always said, There is something inside of you greater than any problem you face
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? After they get to know me, they would see that I am a very positive person and always look for the best in others. I try to encourage others because one kind word can be a life changing experience for many people
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: At the age of twelve while attending a Mississippi College music camp, I was chosen as lead vocalist in the featured show for ages twelve through eighteen. This experience encouraged me to pursue a musical career and was the true beginning of this wonderful dream of mine
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Miss America’s four points of Scholarship, Success, Style, and Service are an integral part of the program and a big part of my life now. Out of these four, the one important thing I have learned is how important it is to serve because of the blessings you receive from reaching out to others
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I would want to promote and help Mississippi any way that I can by being a positive role model and ambassador for my state. I would hope that my platform, Adoption is an Option, would also gain more support while reigning as Miss Mississippi because it is very dear to my heart
What is your secret wish or dream? It would be awesome to perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage and be inducted into their membership one day
I’m motivated by: My motivation comes from my desire to develop the talents God has given me by becoming the best person that He intended me to be. His plans for my future are far greater than any of my fears
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? I was very blessed to be adopted by my parents at birth, so it is my sincerest desire for all children to be adopted and placed in a loving and supportive family. My platform centers around decreasing the number of children placed in the foster care system, so “Adoption Is an Option” is very personal and dear to my heart
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? Personally, the most significant event in my lifetime and also the greatest blessing of my life was when my parents chose to adopt me
The one thing I can’t live without: It would be hard to live without music
My best friend would describe me as: I’m very outgoing, love to entertain people on stage, and I truly care about helping others any way that I can
Something interesting about my family: My mother found out she was pregnant during my adoption process, and as a result, my sister and I are four months apart in age
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I forgot the words to my song once and made up my own words
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Since I am a small town girl, I would love to live in a large city like Nashville where there is more than one traffic light and lots of opportunities
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I have a beautiful Pomeranian that I named Bandit because he steals all of my colorful socks
