I am thrilled to be featured on this website as a contestant in the Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen Pageant. This honor speaks well of my love for pageantry and my desire to earn money for college. I am currently a student at Germantown High School where my amazing class of 2019 voted me to represent them for homecoming court 2016. I will always cherish their support. After high school, I plan to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. I am also interested in becoming an attorney. I am undecided about the college or university I want to attend, but I enjoy visiting and reading about campuses.
I do not have a favorite color, but shades of red, blue and green catch my eye. My favorite movie is “The Intern,” because of the many life lessons displayed. Spaghetti and tilapia are my favorite foods. I love open-toed shoes and dislike flying bugs. One crazy fact about my family is that we like to compare the taste of generic brands of microwaveable popcorn.
I think little kids are adorable. I am a volunteer at Bethlehem Center, a non-profit daycare for families with low-income. I am a member of the choir and youth group at my church. I believe God has a wonderful plan for me and this keeps me excited about life!

I am honored to present my platform—Social Media Accountability.
According to the website, Statista, 78 percent of U.S. Americans had a social media profile in 2016. That percentage includes me. I truly appreciate the value in social media as people all over the world are informed and inspired by positive social media posts. At the same time, negative posts do great harm. Often we hear and read about instances of bullying, crimes and destructive comments that point back to careless social media users. I chose social media accountability as my platform after someone began making negative comments towards me on one of my social media pages. I blocked this person after having a great conversation with my mother about the importance of youth and adults being responsible for what they post.
The purpose of my platform is to urge people to think twice before posting negative comments and images on social media. I will encourage more discussions on the topic as I am meeting people throughout Mississippi and beyond. I am asking people to support my platform by using the label #GoodPostMS in their social media posts. My goal is to see the hashtag used at least 2,017 times. (The target number is symbolic of the year of my reign.) With the help ofgood social media users, I can achieve my goal of bringing awareness to social media accountability.
