What college did you attend, or are currently attending? The University of Mississippi
What is your major? I am a triple major in Broadcasting, Public Relations, and Political Science
What is your scholastic ambition? I plan to graduate in 2017 from the University of Mississippi with three Bachelor’s Degrees in Broadcasting, Public Relations and Political Science. I later hope attend Columbia University in New York, NY to obtain a Master’s Degree in all three fields

Greatest non-academic accomplishment: I’m so honored to be able to compete in Miss Mississippi for a second year. Winning a preliminary pageant is not an easy task which makes it even more special that I am back for a second time
What is your favorite style of music? I love upbeat pop music! Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies so I love to listen to anything that I can dance to
What is your favorite movie genre and why? My favorite movie genre is comedy! I am always laughing so I really enjoy movies that make me laugh even more
What is your favorite gadget? My iPhone! It’s got everything I need to keep me entertained for hours in the palm of my hand
What is your favorite blog? I really like The Skimm. It gives all of the world’s current news and events in a way that’s simplified and easy to understand
What is your favorite place to visit? Any sporting event! I’m super competitive and I enjoying being in that sort of environment
What is your favorite food? Pizza. I could eat it for every single meal
If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? I would want to have The Bible with me because I know I would need some word from the Lord if I somehow got stuck on an island

What is your hometown like? Tuscaloosa is home of the University of Alabama so it’s always buzzing with visitors for sporting events and lots of fun activities that come along with that
What were you like when you were a child? I’ve always been really hyperactive, sassy and independent. My teachers called me a social butterfly, I was always the loudest child in the room
Who is the most influential person in your life? My mother is definitely the most influential person in my life. Her lifelong fight with Sickle Cell Anemia has made her such a strong woman and she has been the ultimate role model for me
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? I’m not a “girly girl”; most of the time, I have on no makeup and my hair is in a bun. I’ve been an athlete my entire life and that doesn’t leave much time for glamour
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: Recovering from my eating disorder made the entire direction of my life change. Beginning to love myself again is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Every step of my recovery helped to mold me into the woman that I am today
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? The Miss America Program has taught me the importance of being a well-rounded person. To be successful in this program, it’s required that contestants dedicate their time and efforts towards being the very best that they can be in all areas of life
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? If I were to be crowned Miss Mississippi 2015, I would continue to raise scholarship money for people with eating disorders who cannot afford treatment while also promoting healthy body image through my platform and the non-profit organization, Project HEAL. Eating disorders affect nearly 20 million women and 10 million men, a large number of which I could reach as Miss Mississippi. It’s time to stop shying away from the subject and end this epidemic
What is your secret wish or dream? I’ve always wanted to work in Hollywood as an actress and model. I’ve always had a fascination with the entertainment industry and I would love to eventually make a career out of my dream
I’m motivated by: My parents; they’ve sacrificed so much for me to be able to pursue my dreams and live a successful life. They’ve always been supportive of my ambitions and because of this, I’d do anything to make them proud
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes; I suffered with an eating disorder and received treatment. It’s thereafter been my passion to help others that are going through similar battles. Eating disorders are such a private ordeal and through my title, I’d like to bring light to the subject and help to end such a deadly epidemic
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? Recovering from my eating disorder gave me insight, confidence, and motivation that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. So many aspects of my personality and character were built during my struggle and recovery and because of that, I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I didn’t go through my ordeal
The one thing I can’t live without: My iPhone
My best friend would describe me as: She would say I was really independent, free-spirited, enthusiastic, and creative
Something interesting about my family: My mom is taller than my dad by about five inches
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I was tumbling in the end zone after a touchdown during an Ole Miss Football game and pretty much face planted in front of almost 70,000 people
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Trying exotic foods! I rarely get adventurous when it comes to new foods but I’d like to be brave and try something new
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: I used to have a Jack Russel Terrier named Snoopy but he passed away last summer
