What were you like when you were a child? I was very shy and quiet as a child. I enjoyed reading (anything other than a school book) and playing outside with my siblings.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My dad has taught me so much in life, and continues to teach me daily, both through his words and more importantly his actions. He is a man of his word, always ready to stand for what he believes in, and has an unstoppable work ethic, and has done his best to instill those qualities in me as well.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? I was homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people have a preconceived image of how homeschoolers look, speak or act, and it surprises people that I don’t fit that mold. In reality, however, there isn’t a specific “homeschool” mold because all homeschool environments are different, creating a diverse group of students.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: When I was fifteen, I took a year off from my piano lessons. That year I realized how much I truly loved music and wanted to keep it a part of my life. When I started taking lessons again, I was able to dedicate myself to practicing, because it was no longer something I had to do: it became something I wanted to do.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? The Miss America has taught me so many things, from interview skills to perseverance and hard work. My favorite lesson has been learning to get out of my comfort zone, both onstage and off.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I would love to be able to spread the word about my platform, and to prove its strength. A platform about music can easily be overlooked as unimportant. I would like to be able to share it on both the state and national level, and show how powerful music can be.
What is your secret wish or dream? I would like to learn to fly airplanes.
I’m motivated by: Passion. The more excited a person is about something, the more excited I get, and it drives me to work for the things I want.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? I chose my platform because of my career path. As an aspiring Speech-Language Pathologist, I would like to use music as a teaching tool in my job, and using it as my platform has been a great opportunity to learn more about it.

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: In my very first Miss Mississippi preliminary pageant, I almost fell in my evening gown! However, I was able to recover, and actually won the pageant!
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: I would like to learn to cook.
Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names: My family has three horses (Kaine, Dega and Dakota), two dogs (Romy and Wesson), seven chickens and a multitude of cats!
