What is your major?  Biology

What is your scholastic ambition?  My scholastic ambition is to graduate with

an associate of Art degree and pursue a Bachelor of Science in biology.

Greatest non-academic accomplishment:  voted Best All-Around Cheerleader in high school

What is your favorite style of music?  Old-school Rhythm and Blues

What is your favorite movie genre and why?  Comedy, because I am a funny person and laughter (which I am normally doing 24/7) is good for the soul.

What is your favorite gadget?    iPad

What is your favorite place to visit?  Eugene, Oregon

What is your favorite food?  Seafood

If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you?  The book I would carry is to a deserted island would be Of Mice and Men.

What is your hometown like?  My hometown is Jackson, the capital, and is the largest city in Mississippi. Our city is rich in history and has many historical sites of which I am proud.

What were you like when you were a child?  As a child I was shy, energetic, fearless, and was not afraid of trying new things such as attempting to climb a 72 ft. fire truck ladder.

Who is the most influential person in your life?  The most influential person in my life was my 12th grade advisor, Tanita Mitchell (now deceased) because she always pushed me beyond my limits,  even though I was ready to give up. She always thought of others before herself.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize?  One thing that people would not immediately realize is that I listen to country music, and am a humorous person.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title:  By the way that I reacted when I received my learner’s permit, one would have thought my parents were about to buy me a car the next day.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program?  One important thing that I have learned from the Miss America Program is to be more mature and it help me realize the importance about giving back.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?  Since my platform is beYOUtiful, I want to help as many young girls as possible to gain self-esteem through courage, confidence, and character.

What is your secret wish or dream?  My dream is to be a better self, than I was yesterday through this process of developing courage, confidence, and character.

I’m motivated by:  Fear because fear is what drives me and it is the opposite of success.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform?  I was a fellow Girl Scout for over 12 years. The Girl Scout organization, as a whole, has built me into the strong confident young lady I am today. Young girls need to develop a positive attitude toward themselves and realize their full potential.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime?  The most significant event that happened in my lifetime was graduating high school because I am one step closer to achieving my dreams.

The one thing I can’t live without:  Family

My best friend would describe me as:  Fearless, godly, a motivator, caring, family –       oriented, trustworthy, good listener, and loving.

Something interesting about my family:  my parents call their children by their middle name.

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:  While riding in the car with my great grandmother she was driving on the wrong side of traffic and her response was, “They are the ones on the wrong side of the road!”

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me:  swimming with sharks
