What is your hometown like? It is incredibly small and covered in cotton. It is also very hospitable
What were you like when you were a child? I was a handful, to say the least. I was very energetic and stayed in trouble, and I changed my name at least once a week
Who is the most influential person in your life? Other than my family, I would have to say that one unnamed teacher has had the biggest influence on my life. She constantly pushes us to reach our greatest potential, encouraging us to think on our own. Also, she manages to find subtle ways to serve Christ in a society that is beginning to shun Christianity
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? My main goal is to make a lasting positive impact on everyone I meet
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: One defining moment would be making the Top Ten at the 2014 Miss Mississippi pageant
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? I have learned that, contrary to what most people believe, the prize is not the crown. The prize is that journey that helps shape young women into the best they can be
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I want to make Mississippi a better place by further promoting my platform, Thumbs Up for Safety!. I also want to touch many lives through service to the Children’s Miracle Network. My sister had a birth defect, and she is a direct recipient of the quality of service provided by the network
What is your secret wish or dream? I would like to work at Disney World as a Disney princess
I’m motivated by: God’s love for me. He paid the ultimate price for me so I want to share His love through service to others
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? I picked my platform because my school and community experienced first-hand the potential consequences of texting and driving through the loss of one of my schoolmates
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? I think Hurricane Katrina was significant in that it brought our entire state and our entire nation together in a unified effort to heal, rebuild, and provide comfort and compassion to those affected
The one thing I can’t live without: is my friends
My best friend would describe me as: caring
Something interesting about my family: We are avid St. Louis Cardinals fans and attended game 6 of the 2011 World Series
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: In the middle of a dance recital, I tripped on a mat and fell flat on my face. As a ten year old, I was mortified One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: bungee jumping because I am terrified of heights
