What is your hometown like? Even thinking about my hometown brings a smile to my face, because it is one of those small Mississippi towns that you read about in magazines where you never meet a stranger, and the people love Jesus, family, football and sweet tea!
What were you like when you were a child? I would consider myself very bubbly as a child! I was raised to be versatile, so I loved riding on the tractor in the field with my uncle just as much as I loved dressing up like a princess. I would dance, sing, and play the piano for anyone that was willing to watch or listen.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My Grandma Billie has always had a huge impact on my life. While my parents were at work, I would stay at her house. She raised herself with the help of her older sister, and because of that she has always enforced the importance of education, hard work, and determination. I strive everyday to become half the woman that she is.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? I try to be a very optimistic girl that doesn’t get her feathers ruffled too easily, but I don’t think people realize that I am also extremely goal oriented.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: The first time I ever laced up a pair of pointe shoes, I was in 5th grade. I remember thinking “This is the opportunity I have been looking forward to for so long, and now I finally get to fulfill my dream of being a ballerina!”
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? The Miss America Organization opens so many doors for young women across the country, but most importantly it gives them the opportunity to give back to their communities, states, and country by promoting education, service, and confidence.

I’m motivated by: knowing I am a role model that can make a difference. Realizing that there are children and peers influenced by my actions makes me strive to be a better person.
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes! Working as a dental assistant at a dentist office in my hometown has given me the opportunity to be exposed to so many children that do not have the materials needed to take proper care of their teeth. Witnessing this inspired me to partner with America’s Tooth Fairy and work to bring smiles to the faces of every child in Mississippi.
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? I met my best friend of the last 20 years when I was an infant. Sara and I were born 40 days apart, and we have been the best of friends ever since! Our 86-year-old grandmothers have also been best friends since childhood.
The one thing I can’t live without: I don’t know what I would do without sweet tea! Sometimes my roommate and I decide where we are going to eat dinner completely based off of who has the best tea.

Something interesting about my family: Both sides of my family are very close. All of the members of my mom’s immediate family eat lunch together every Sunday after church and have for over 50 years.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I frequently say hi to people that I don’t know, because they say hello to someone walking behind me, and I don’t realize that they are not, in fact, speaking to me until it is too late.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: One day I want to go on a spontaneous road trip with some of my close friends. Almost everything I do is very organized and well thought out. I think it would be a nice change in pace to suddenly decide to hop in the car with the girls and take a trip to somewhere exciting!
