What is your hometown like? Hattiesburg is known as the “Hub City” because of the numerous highways and railroads intersecting there. It is a perfect mix of southern charm and modern facilities and conveniences
What were you like when you Were a child? I was very curious and inquisitive
Who is the most influential person in your life? I would have to say that my Mother is the most influential. I have watched her courageously battle breast cancer and she always displays that positive attitude
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? That I actually know how to milk a goat
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: The one moment that changed my life and the life of my family was when we heard the diagnosis of breast cancer for my Mother. We knew as a family that our lives would forever be changed
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Perseverance. I’ve learned to not give up and not be discouraged when obstacles are thrown in my path
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service?
I want to help people “Find Their Voice.” By this I mean to help people find and recognize their inner strength to overcome whatever problems they may be facing
What is your secret wish or dream? I want to guest star on “Criminal Minds”
I’m motivated by: anything that challenges me intellectually or spiritual
Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes, my platform is related to helping my Mother win her battle against breast cancer
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? The terrorist attacks on New York on 9/11. The country and the world have been forever changed
The one thing I can’t live without: My car
My best friend would describe me as: Someone whose brain thinks faster than her mouth can speak
Something interesting about my family: They are “The Life of The Party” but yet very kind
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: When I was crowned Miss Southern Magnolia the former winner could not place the crown on my head because I had no hair
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Deer hunting in MS
