What is your major? I am a Banking and Finance Major with Minors in both Journalism and Marketing

What is your scholastic ambition? To graduate from Ole Miss with honors and soon after begin working on my post-graduate goals of following in my father’s footsteps and obtaining an MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Greatest non-academic accomplishment: Taking advantage of opportunities to grow during this phase of my life while finding a balance that allows me to be successful and happy is my greatest non-academic accomplishment.

What is your favorite style of music? Contemporary Christian music is my favorite style.

What is your favorite movie genre and why? Comedy is my favorite movie genre. I work hard as a student and active member on campus. When I have free time I want to enjoy it doing something fun.

What is your favorite gadget? My Fitbit

What is your favorite blog? I love reading the diverse stories of so many unique people on the Humans of New York site.

What is your favorite place to visit? My favorite place to visit is the lake with my family and friends. It’s the one place I can totally relax.

What is your favorite food? It’s a tie between pizza and donuts!

If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? I would want to have Nicholas Spark’sThe Notebook with me if I were on a deserted island. I could read it over and over again never gettingtired of it.

Do you twitter? I like to read posts, but I don’t tweet very often.

Television Program: Although I don’t have time to watch it often, I’m a little embarrassed to admit that my favorite show is The Bachelor. I like it because it such a ridiculously, unrealistic representation of real life relationships that it’s comical!

Thing to do on a weekend: My favorite weekend tradition is catching up on sleep and making brunch with my roommates when we get up!

Way to spend a day off: My favorite way to spend a day off is going on a walk with my friends at the park and then having lunch on the Square in Oxford.

What is your hometown like? My hometown is the capital of the Natural State. It’s a big town with lots of fun, outdoorsy things to do.

What were you like when you were a child? Being the middle child of three girls with a sister only 14 months older and one three years younger, I discovered early on that I’d have to be the easygoing and agreeable one if I was going to enjoy my childhood. People say they remember me always smiling, playing dress-up and dancing.

Who is the most influential person in your life? My mom is one of the most influential people in my life. She has set an amazing example by balancing family, relationships, education and goal-setting priorities in her life.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? People might not immediately realize that I have an adventurous spirit. I love to try new things and visit new places.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: As a high school sophomore,I was selected to attend the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar. This life-changing experience greatly contributed to the developmentof my leadership skills and heart for serving others, and I have loved returning to the conference every year since as a guest speaker and Junior Counselor.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? Being a part of the Miss America Program has helped me realize my potential as a leader and servant, and it has empowered me to use my personal strengths to encourage others to recognize and use their potential as well.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I want to be a titleholder who helps shape peoples’ perception of pageant participation to be synonymous withthat of a role model, change maker, and woman in action. My goal for my reign would be to inspire people to make a difference in their own lives and for the future of the next generation by taking every opportunity to discover their creative and problem solving potential so they can do their part to help make our world a better place.

What is your secret wish or dream? I secretly wish I could eat Papa John’s Pizza everyday with no negative consequences to my health or physique.

I’m motivated by: The personal satisfaction that comes from achieving my goals or overcoming my fears motivates me to do my best and try my hardest in everything I do.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? As the daughter of an engineer and educator, I had the opportunity to realize and appreciate the benefits of developing good problem solving skills at an early age.  Working to implement a plan that encourages students to adopt an “IDEAL” decision making process in conjunction with STEM practices which will enhance their problem solving skills was a natural platform choice.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? Selecting the college I wanted to attend was a decision that I did not take lightly because I knew it would ultimately affect my entire future. Deciding to come to Ole Miss was the best decision I have ever made, and Oxford has truly become home.

The one thing I can’t live without: I can’t imagine life without music.

My best friend would describe me as: I believe my best friends would describe me as “fearlessly authentic.”I think they would say I care a lot about other people, I’m passionate about the things I believe in, and I try my best to always be true to who I am.

Something interesting about my family: One of my family’s favorite traditions is to watch the movie Christmas Vacationduring the holidays. We drink out of our moose cups, recite the lines word by word, laugh a lot, and take silly pictures in Christmas sweaters.

Most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: When I was a teen titleholder, I had a high school teacher wear a shirt mocking pageantry on Halloween that sparked a controversial debate among my peers in my presence. I was terribly embarrassed by some of their comments and their lack of compassion and sensitivity for other people’s pursuits and passions.

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Sometime before I graduate college,I’d like to try not studying for a super hard exam just to see how I would do.

Do you have any pets?If so, what kind and tell us their names: My family has one adorable Lab puppynamed Lexi. She’s full grown and almost two, but she will always be our baby girl!
