What is your scholastic ambition?   To earn a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies

List scholastic honors:     Scored Advanced on the Mississippi State Algebra and U.S. History Test, Beta Club, Graduated high school with Honors, National Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Outstanding Freshman in the College of Education and Psychology at U.S.M.and The President’s List at U.S.M.

Greatest non-academic accomplishment: My biggest non-academic accomplishment to date was winning a 5A State Championship title in cheerleading back to back. The feeling from working together as a team and achieving our goal was both rewarding and exhilarating.

What is your favorite style of music?  Contemporary Pop/Rock puts me in a good mood.

What is your favorite movie genre and why?  Documentaries.  I enjoy them because they reveal an abundance of information about certain topics.  It is nice to see the facts come to life on the screen.

What is your favorite gadget?    My favorite gadget would be my new hot pink Beats Headphones.  I love listening to music. They are extremely useful for my lifestyle.

What is your favorite blog? My favorite blog is Tone It Up!  It is a blog that motivates me to do extra workouts in my home when I have down time. It also has a lot of information on nutrition.

What is your favorite place to visit?  I absolutely love going to Disney World!  I celebrated my 18th birthday at Cinderella’s Castle.

What is your favorite food? I love all types of Gulf Coast seafood, but crab legs are my favorite! Living on the Gulf Coast has really spoiled me.

If you were on a deserted island, what book would you want with you? Julie and Julia would be my choice because I love reading about Julia Child and I think it would keep me laughing, so I would forget about being on the deserted island.

Do you twitter?  I have one but I don’t use it very often. It is not my favorite social media outlet.

What is your hometown like?     I live in the friendly city of Long Beach only three miles from the beach. It is small but a wonderful place to live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

What were you like when you were a child?  Growing up, I loved to play outside with my Shetland pony, turtle, cat, and Australian Cattle dog. I was always busy with cheerleading, gymnastics, dancing, and basketball.

Who is the most influential person in your life?        The most influential person in my life is absolutely my mother.  She has been a huge impact and is always there for me.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? One thing people may not immediately realize when they meet me is I am easy to talk to.  I love meeting new people and hearing their story.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: A defining moment is my life was when Hurricane Katrina devastated my hometown. I realized that material things are not important, people are.

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? I have learned that the Miss America Program is a sisterhood.  All of these dynamic women support one another and remain friends for a lifetime.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? If I were crowned Miss Mississippi, I would want to continue spreading the importance of volunteering and how to get involved with different organizations.  Through my platform, Volunteerism: Every Hour Counts I would continue to encourage people of all ages to give their time not just money.

What is your secret wish or dream?  My secret wish is to be Princess Belle at Disney World.  I have been told I look like her; I also love how kind she is kind and her love of reading.

I’m motivated by:    Health and Nutrition.  Exercise and eating clean are part of my daily routine. I think it is very important to take care of my body because it cannot be replaced.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes, having experienced Hurricane Katrina first hand and through my mother being sick with cancer, I realized the importance of helping those in need.  I knew then that I wanted to touch as many lives as possible through volunteering.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? I think the most significant event in my lifetime has been the creation of social media.  It is used everyday and has changed our world completely since everyone is able to stay connected in a way that was never possible before.

The one thing I can’t live without: It would be difficult to live without my cell phone.  It is my GPS and allows me to stay in contact with my friends and family.

My best friend would describe me as:  An outgoing and sincere person.  I have been told that they fell in love with my heart first.

Something interesting about my family:          My family comes from a long line of educators and most of their names begin with the letter “J.”

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me:  The most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me would have to be performing a dance on a stage that was too small and I tumbled into someone who was sitting in a chair on the side of the stage.

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me:  I would love to try skydiving. It is something completely out of my element because I usually do not like jumping off of things, especially being that far above ground.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names:  I do have pets and I treat them as if they were my children. I have four Applehead Chihuahuas and their names are Lilo, Stitch, Tiki, and Maui.
