What is your hometown like? My hometown is a small haven for retirees or people who simply want a safe place full of friendly people. Booneville is like a large family; everyone knows everyone, and we’re big supporters each other.

What were you like when you were a child? As a child I was quite outgoing, but when I wasn’t caught entertaining anyone, I had my nose in a book or an educational workbook.

Who is the most influential person in your life? Jesus Christ. Following Christ is what has gotten me to where I am today.

What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? People would not recognize the hardships I’ve faced in my life because I keep a smile on my face and don’t display my difficulties because I know the Lord always has a plan and will lead me in the direction in which I should go.

Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: One defining moment for me was one that was only seen by me during one of my nightly devotions. I had become overwhelmed, discouraged, and had begun giving up when the Lord spoke to me and let me know he was working on me, and I could not  give up

What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? I have learned how effortless and amazing it is to make close bonds with ladies from everywhere in the state and how much of an impact we have one each other’s lives.

If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? In my year of service, I would love to expand my platform throughout Mississippi, increasing awareness and donations assisting those in need.  I would like to see large businesses help these families to rebuild their homes.

I’m motivated by: the life stories of others; whether they’re good or bad , I use them to keep me humbled and to push me to continue doing what’s right and striving for success.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Yes, even though the loss of my previous house was not by a natural disaster, when I saw people losing their homes because of a tornado, it touched my heart and I felt the desire to help because there were people who helped my family in desperate time of need. I wanted to be that help for someone else.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? My father’s incarceration has played an enormous role in my life and helping me develop into the young woman I am. It taught me responsibility at a young age and to count my blessings, but most of all it strengthened my relationship with Christ.

The one thing I can’t live without:  Chapstick

My best friend would describe me as: a sister who is there for her when she needs me as well as when she doesn’t; an irreplaceable friend

Something interesting about my family: My blended family consists of ten siblings. With the exception of my immediate family, my relatives live 12 hours away.

Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: When I was 10 my vocal coach gave me the opportunity to sing “Holly Jolly Christmas” in her Christmas concert. I had practiced for weeks and was so excited. I was on stage singing and after the first verse I went completely blank and forgot the lyrics. I was scarred for what seemed liked forever, but now I just look back and laugh.

One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: Deep Sea diving

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and tell us their names:  3 dogs:a Cane Corso Italian Mastiff named Chance, a Chihuahua named Jonas, and a Lhasa Apso named Cookie
