Who is the most influential person in your life? While he sadly is no longer living, my grandfather, Dr. James Edward Booth, has had the most influence on my life. Being a survivor of World War II and Battle of the Bulge and coming back home to America to serve as a surgeon for over fifty years, he truly showed me what it meant to have courage, patriotism, and dedication. I strive each day to live as he did and to love others in the way that he did.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? Learning that someone is trustworthy is not something you figure out the first time you meet someone. When people first meet me, they might see that I do not meet a stranger and am very personable, but they might not realize until they get to know me and face different situations, that I am extremely dependable and trustworthy and will not let them down.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: The moment that I saw pictures of the dedication ceremony of the clean water well my family and I sponsored was an incredible defining moment in my life. At this very moment, I knew that I had to continue my involvement in raising money for clean water for these people in the suffering communities.

What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? I think that the developing of the smartphone has been the most significant event that’s occurred during my lifetime. Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I will never forget showing up to my junior high dance with a tag still left on my outfit. One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: This might be more like “way” out of character for me, but my brothers are avid duck hunters and wake up at four o’clock in the morning all most every day during the winter break to hunt.
