What were you like when you were a child? When I was young, I loved to try new things. I think this was so that I could truly figure out what I loved. I played basketball, softball, took baton lessons, dance, voice, and piano. As I got older, I realized that I loved some more than others. Because of my sense and desire to try new things, I have my passions and loves today.
Who is the most influential person in your life? While he sadly is no longer living, my grandfather, Dr. James Edward Booth, has had the most influence on my life. Being a survivor of World War II and Battle of the Bulge and coming back home to America to serve as a surgeon for over fifty years, he truly showed me what it meant to have courage, patriotism, and dedication. I strive each day to live as he did and to love others in the way that he did.
What is the one thing about you that people you meet may not immediately realize? Learning that someone is trustworthy is not something you figure out the first time you meet someone. When people first meet me, they might see that I do not meet a stranger and am very personable, but they might not realize until they get to know me and face different situations, that I am extremely dependable and trustworthy and will not let them down.
Describe one defining moment in your own life, other than winning your local title: The moment that I saw pictures of the dedication ceremony of the clean water well my family and I sponsored was an incredible defining moment in my life. I was completely overwhelmed from seeing the joy on the faces of all of the people who were seeing clean, running water for the first time in their village. At this very moment, I knew that I had to continue my involvement in raising money for clean water for these people in the suffering communities.
What is one important thing you have learned from being in the Miss America Program? The Miss America Program has shown me the importance of discipline, time-management, and dedication, which will all be valuable to me throughout my lifetime.
If you are crowned Miss Mississippi, what do you want to accomplish during your Year of Service? I would thoroughly enjoy working with Children’s Miracle Network and visiting with as many children as possible who might be suffering and brightening their day. I would also have a goal to raise money to build as many water wells possible for countries in need of clean drinking water and make sure that the people of America provided with safe and clean water.
What is your secret wish or dream? My dream is to be on Broadway and performing in either Wicked or Frozen or be a Radio City Rockette. My passion is to perform and I would love nothing more than to be on Broadway or dancing in Radio City Music Hall.

Is there a personal connection that made you pick your personal platform? Absolutely. My platform was a part of me before I ever chose to compete in the pageant. My family and I sponsored a clean water well in a remote village in India when I was thirteen years old. I was impacted greatly after I saw pictures of the people who were overwhelmed to see clean water for the first time and knew that I wanted to continue my involvement
What do you think has been the most significant event in your lifetime? I think that the developing of the smartphone has been the most significant event that’s occurred during my lifetime. The one thing I can’t live without: My Bible truly is what allows me to live life to the fullest and keeps me grounded, so I definitely do not feel I could live without it.
My best friend would describe me as: They would describe me as outgoing, relatable, genuine, and trustworthy. I try to be the best friend possible and someone that people can count on no matter what.
Something interesting about my family: One thing that is rather interesting about my family is that my brothers (I have three) all range between the height of 6 feet 4 inches and 6 feet 9 inches tall.
Funniest or most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me: I will never forget showing up to my junior high dance with a tag still left on my outfit. I was so excited about wearing it and then my whole world was shaken up when my best friend tapped me on my shoulder on the dance floor and told me the tragic news that I forgot to take my tag off.
One thing I’d like to try that is out of character for me: This might be more like “way” out of character for me, but my brothers are huge duck hunters and wake up at four o’clock in the morning all most every day during the winter break to hunt. I sometimes think I should join in just to see what is so great about waking up that early to go sit in the freezing cold only with a hope that ducks will fly.
